Briquetting lines

Briquetting lines

The production of biofuels from waste wood and biomass is a multi-stage technological process consisting of the following steps:

  1. Supply and transportation of raw materials.
  2. Chipping.
  3. Drying.
  4. Briquetting or pelletizing.
  5. Finished product packaging.

An individual approach to solving the task will ensure the optimal selection of equipment and technologies to achieve maximum profitability of the project.

CHIPPING AREA

he zone consists of two stages:
1. Primary shredding is necessary for shredding of piece waste, branches, slabs into technological chips. Crushers are classified by type of crushing:

  • Roller - recycles wood waste up to 80 cm in diameter, high productivity up to 50 m3 of chips per hour.
  • Disk - average productivity up to 8 m3 of chips per hour. The maximum diameter of the treated waste is 25 cm.
  • Shredders - low productivity up to 5 m3 per hour, are designed for primary shredding of small lumpy waste. Optimal if there are foreign objects in the wood.

All types of crushers can be produced in both mobile and stationary versions.

2. Secondary grinding is necessary to create a homogeneous raw material, which is important mainly for granulation and affects the quality of the final product (pellets or briquettes).

DRYING AREA

An important factor in the production of solid biofuels is the moisture content of the raw materials. The moisture content of the raw materials must not exceed 14% during briquetting and between 6 and 10% during granulation.
Low temperature belt dryers (operating temperature 70-90 degrees) are the optimal solution for drying.
Our dryers are reliable, fireproof and compact with a high degree of automation of the drying process.
The high class of applied technological solutions and used industrial components ensures safe operation of the drying complex. The installation of the structures in the hull of the sea container allows for assembly and a complete test cycle directly at the manufacturer's factory before shipment, thus ensuring rapid installation and commissioning on site.

BRIQUETTING

After the raw materials have been prepared (dried and shredded), it is necessary to move on to the next stage of biofuel production: the agglomeration process, ie briquetting or granulation.
Briquetted wood waste can be of various fractions, from wood dust to sawdust to wood chips. The electronic control keeps the size of the briquette constant regardless of changes in the material fraction. Without the addition of binders in accordance with DIN 51731. The calorific value of wood briquettes is 4200 - 4500 kcal / kg.
RUF & C.F. Nielsen briquetting systems process wood waste and biomass into high-quality fuel briquettes, which are in high demand in the European market, which reduces the risks associated with the sale of finished products.

PRODUCT PACKAGING

The last stage of the technological process of biofuel production is the packaging of the products. Depending on the customer's wishes and requirements, a manual, semi-automatic or automatic system for packing fuel briquettes can be installed in the finished product.

From waste to packaged briquettes

In February 2021, our team developed and installed a full-cycle briquetting line. The company has a lot of sawdust and different wood waste in different fractions. In order to achieve an even mass of timber for briquetting by packing briquettes on pallets, only a vibrating table, vibrating conveyors, chipper, several hoppers, a hammer mill, 2 RUF briquetting presses and a Strojplast packing machine are installed. Briquetting line capacity 1.4t / hour.

In August 2019, we installed a new RUF Lignum R6 briquetting press for a Belarusian company already engaged in briquette production. The company replaced the previous-generation RUF press with the new one to increase productivity but reduce electricity costs. The further improvement of the hydraulic system of the Lignum R has led to an efficiency increase of around 25%. This is one of the biggest benefits - less power consumption per capacity.

This time we visited neighboring Lithuania, where in July 2019 we installed a RUF Lignum R6 briquetting system and an Airless packaging machine from Strojplast. In total, these capacities produce approximately 950-970 kg / h of briquettes, which means one pallet of briquettes per hour and about 23 tons per day.
