Implementation of innovative solutions at the woodworking company AVOTI
The development and implementation of technologies that enable the processing of the entire wood resource at woodworking plants in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia are closely connected with the company "RMP". For more than 30 years, the company has been implementing projects for the processing of wood waste and the production of biofuels at woodworking plants.
In September 2024, "RMP" delivered equipment, carried out installation work and commissioned a chipping and briquetting line with an automatic packaging and palletizing system at the "AVOTI" plant in Rezekne.
Lump waste from the main production is crushed in a chipper. Then, using a moving floor system, the bulk material is fed to a hammer mill for additional chipping. Dry homogeneous raw materials enter a 50 m3 storage bin that feeds the briquetting presses.
Briquetting is performed on an automatic line, the basis of which is 3 parallel-mounted RUF LIGNUM R6 presses, each with a capacity till 720 kg/h. Pressed briquettes are moved along a conveyor to the Strojplast packaging station, where they are grouped and packed in polyethylene film. Each finished package contains 12 briquettes with a total weight of 10 kg. The packaged products are placed on a pallet by a robotic manipulator, then the pallet with finished products is moved to the stand of the machine for wrapping pallets with film. And now the packed pallets are ready for shipment.
The creation of an automated wood briquetting line allowed not only to solve the problem of waste recycling, significantly reduce the need for personnel, but also to increase the economic efficiency of the plant.
RUF briquettes are an environmentally friendly product, the heat output is 4600 kcal/kg, the ash content is no more than 3%. RUF briquettes are highly durable, do not require large storage areas and there is no risk of spontaneous combustion during storage.
AVOTI is one of the most modern woodworking companies in the Baltics, producing solid pine furniture, known for its sustainable development strategy and integrated approach to wood processing. The introduction of new RUF briquettes production sites ensures the recycling of waste into modern biofuel.
