RMP Successfully Completed Its First Project in Kazakhstan

RMP specialists carried out the equipment supply, supervised installation, and commissioned the shredding and briquetting line at one of the major metalworking enterprises in Kostanay. This marks RMP’s first project in Kazakhstan — and already a vivid example of how innovative solutions can turn production waste into valuable raw materials.

Since the equipment was launched in April 2025, the RUF 22/3000/80 briquetting system has solved an acute problem - the accumulation of steel chips in large volumes. Now, the long, vine-like chips from metalworking machines are collected in carts and, using a tipping device, are automatically fed into a two-roll crusher, where they are crushed into small fractions, and then fed along the conveyor into the hopper of the RUF hydraulic press for briquetting.

In the process of briquetting steel chips, due to the high specific pressure of 2600 kg / cm2 - the density of the briquettes is 5.6 g / cm3. And expensive coolants are also squeezed out. The liquid is collected in the press tray, pumped into a container and after filtration is ready for reuse. The productivity of this model of the RUF press for steel reaches 720 kg / hour.

The second briquetting system RUF 22/4000/70 processes the cast iron chips formed during the production process into briquettes, simultaneously filtering the coolant contained in the chips. Cast iron chips are usually small and free-flowing - such a fraction is ideal for briquetting. Due to the high specific pressure of 2500 kg/cm2 - the density of cast iron briquettes is 5.4 g/cm3. The productivity of this RUF model for cast iron chips is up to 640 kg/hour.

The enterprise’s specialists were advised to briquette chips in a fresh state, immediately after they are produced, since prolonged storage leads to oxidation. Oxidized chips are unable to form high-quality briquettes.

With the introduction of this briquetting technology for steel and cast iron, the efficiency of the entire production process has significantly improved: production waste is transformed into secondary raw materials, valuable production space has been freed up, staffing requirements have been reduced, and workplace safety has increased.

For RMP, this project is a milestone: it has opened new opportunities in the Kazakh market and confirmed the effectiveness of RUF solutions in the fields of metalworking and metallurgy. “We are proud that our first project in Kazakhstan has immediately delivered tangible economic and environmental benefits to the customer. Modern briquetting technologies can radically transform production processes, making them more rational and profitable,” said Elena Kozmenkova, Chairwoman of the Board.

RMP combines years of experience, innovative technologies, and an individual approach to every client.
